Millionaire Action Plan That Does Not Have You Sacrificing Your Soul

WHAT’S THE EPISODE ABOUT…

Welcome back to episode number 45. We are moving in on one year of the podcast and there is going to be a BIG celebration. I don’t know what I’m doing yet, I just announce these things and then we come up with a plan. I wish we could all get together, that would be such a dream. But that’s not happening, we will have a celebration, but it will happen in Camp Elevate where all of our podcast friends hang out. I am just really, really excited for this episode today because it’s just me and some thoughts that I have had this week. It started happening that I got connected with three of the company millionaires about Instagram stories, and women that have been sideline sisters of mine for six years with our company. We all got in the magazine together, but I never really knew them personally.

Then we happened to connect about an Instagram story app; story swag, which I am loving by the way, and I’ll share a few tips with you about how I got a few orders from my stories this week. But I started to have conversations with them about daily action. And I know I talk about it endlessly, over and over again.

And as I celebrate one year of this podcast, I want to relate the podcast to getting started with your network marketing business. And I’m going to connect the dots about how to give you that daily action plan, that millionaire action plan that does not have you sacrificing your freedoms, passions, personal integrity or your soul.

WHEN DOES IT AIR…

July 06, 2020

EPISODE TRANSCRIPT:

Welcome back to episode number 45. We are moving in on one year of the podcast and there is going to be a big celebration. So, I don’t know what I’m doing yet. I just announced these things, and then we come up with a plan. I wish we could all get together, that would be such a dream. But that’s not happening, but we will have a celebration. It will happen in Camp Elevate where all of our podcast friends hang out. And, I am just really, really excited for this episode today because it’s just me and some thoughts that I have had this week. It started happening that I got connected with three of the company millionaires, about Instagram stories and women that have been sideline sisters of mine for six years with our company. When I shared, how we got in the magazine together, but I never really knew them personally.

And we happened to just connect about an Instagram story, app story swag, which I am loving by the way. And I’ll share a few tips with you about how I got a few orders from my stories this week, but I started to have conversations with them about daily action. And I know I talk about it endlessly and over and over again. And as I celebrate one year of the podcast, I want to relate the podcast getting started, to starting with your network marketing business. And I’m going to connect the dots about how to give you that daily action plan, that millionaire action plan that does not have you sacrificing your soul. And back to that, you guys over in Camp Elevate, we’re having this summer of MORE. Susan Hyatt, my coach has the summer of YES. So, I always give her credit because she is the one that talks about how women make more money when they have pleasure and fun and time off.

So, we are celebrating the summer of MORE, last summer I did the summer of YES with Susan. And so, we’re having a great time in there. I want you to hop in thecampelevategroup.com. If you haven’t been back to camp in a while, we have some really cool things happening. And before we get started, I want to read you one of the reviews that I love, it’s from Terry Triffletti, and she said, wow, I’ve been trying to find a podcast that truly resonates with me, and this is. Beth is so real and giving, you can feel her energy coming through her words. This episode, build your dream team, moved me in a way I cannot explain. I felt something inside me change today, I know this is the beginning of my new journey. You’re not the Boss of Me is a must listen for any entrepreneur. Thank you, Beth.

And Terry, thank you so much. And we are going to put a boss hat in the mail to you. So, shoot me a Facebook message with your address, and I will make sure that comes your way. So, I want to talk with you today about a few things, and when I think about the podcast launch, I remember last summer, just laboring over the intro. And I want you to relate this to, starting your network marketing business, or what should I post, and what should I send, and what should I do? And I, I just, I kept listening to the intros over and over again, and the music and thinking that’s wrong, that’s wrong. No, that’s not me. I started to look for ways to avoid taking action. I hired somebody that was a copywriter for a day to spend with me.

And it was ridiculous. She was awesome, but it was just a way to say, I’m not ready. I’m not ready. And I should have just gone with my message, launched it before I got the words. Perfect. And then I happened to, I was struggling with, maybe I should just dump this thing. Like who’s going to listen to a podcast, right? My energy was low. All of those defeating thoughts that we all have in our business. And I don’t know if I’ve shared this story, but Jody, she’s does the creative podcast production. She helps podcasters like me share their story and their message. She’s an incredible coach. And I’ll put her link in the show notes. If you’re looking to start a podcast, or what to talk about, even your first steps, you can contact her. But I was out, I just went for a walk and thought, I’ve got it.

Like, why am I going down this rabbit hole? Like, what is going on? Is this just, why can’t I get my messaging together on this podcast? And I looked across the street and there was a beautiful German shepherd. And, that was something that I knew that, it just made me think of Jody. She had lost her beautiful dog. And, I hadn’t heard from her on Facebook in a while, after a tragedy in her life, she had to take some time for herself. And I looked and I thought, oh Jody, what is Jody doing right now? Because she had said to me long ago, and she helped me with another project. She said, you should consider podcasting. And lo and behold, she had posted that day part of her story, and that she was coming back and helping women with their voices and podcasting.

And if that is not a sign from God that I needed to get my act together and move forward. But I tell you guys that because, the signs are everywhere and we wait for perfection and many people will say that they start their network marketing business or their online business because they have no choice, but many of you have a little bit of a cushion. So, there’s a lot of space for you to have excuses or have ways that you think, well, I’m not quite perfectly branded yet. And I want to break down this wall to tell you that I don’t know anyone that’s made over a million dollars in the network marketing space who started to take mastermind courses on how to build their business and had a perfectly done YouTube channel before they started making money, most get all the way to the top.

And then they’re like, Oh, let me venture off to do these things. So, I think there’s a lot of confusing messages out there, because they’re flying into your Facebook feed, that you shouldn’t have conversations until you do this, until you learn this. And I talk about a five-post strategy and I share strategy. But the number one strategy that I am going to tell you today is I’m going to tell you what to have less of, and what to have more of. And then I’m going to tell you this, the things that I took away from talking to million-dollar earners, and it’s my story as well. So first of all, I want you just to take a deep breath and repeat after me. If you’re out walking your dogs, you’re on the treadmill, or you’re listening to this in the car with your kids and say, I have everything that I need right now, today, to have massive success.

And it’s on the way you got to believe. Number one, believe with all your heart that it is for you, because why not? I want you to almost get mad, angry in a good way that somebody else is able to have success. And network marketing is so different than going for that job interview, because it doesn’t matter who, you know, what school you went to. It doesn’t matter as Rob Sperry says, there is not anything that’s holding you back because it’s available to you. So, if you think that having the perfect link tree and having the perfect live video, and having the perfect cover photo, and the perfect Instagram feed is what’s holding you back. That is wrong. Now we can always improve our social media presence. We can always work on our Instagram stories and our Facebook stories to have more conversations. But most people that built didn’t learn that first.

We learned it along the way. It’s like thinking about when, when my son started wakeboarding, he didn’t go get his PhD in wakeboarding. He fell like 18 times the first day. And by a year later, he’s flipping over wakes and behind a boat and on these crazy ramps because they just go out and they do it and they do it, and they do it and they do it until they get it right. And he doesn’t stop because his friend Colby happens to be better than him and has progressed faster. And he helps the boys along that need his help and they just go out and they do it. And there’s no perfect way, but here’s what you have to remember; less worrying about what people think and more thinking that your business is your responsibility. So, do you ever go to post and think, oh my gosh, what’s my friend Amy going to think about this post.

Like she, I don’t want her to think that, well, if you’re posting about, if you’re posting it in at risk, in a way that’s sharing a story, sharing something that has been created because of your product or your business, sharing something that’s of service. You’re not going to get those feelings of should I, or shouldn’t try, right? Your curiosity posts. But yes, sharing the stories of success are so important. So, stop worrying about what people will think. And remember your business is your responsibility and that is in the conversations that you’re willing to have as well. When you stress that, you’ll say the wrong thing, just trust that you’re going to show up, you’re going to show up in a way that allows you to have the words that will resonate with that person. And I have said so many of the wrong things.

I tell you all the time, ask more questions. And one of the millionaires that I interviewed this week, Lisa feller, she said her favorite question is to ask, are you open-minded? Do you consider yourself an open-minded person when it comes to business? Pause and think about that. Do you consider yourself an open-minded person when it comes to business? Okay. And now, don’t you dare feel bad that you are asking someone to buy something from you, because I want you to do this. And we talk about this all the time, why do you do what you do? And how does it improve people’s lives? And if it improves people’s lives, my goodness, you are going to have conversations? Then we go back up to, if they say no, well, I’m not worried about what people are thinking because my business is my responsibility, right?

So, when you have a, an energy of abundance, when you have an energy of that, I am going, I’m excited. I’m confident, I’m bold. I want you to have those in your estimation. I’m boldly building a business. I have unwavering confidence and excitement about what it is that I’m building, and when you have posture and when you come at people, like, of course, someone’s like, does this really work? Oh my gosh, of course, let me grab this story and share that with you. But when your kind of inauthentic and you’re not sure what to say, and you’re like, I don’t know, this feels, this doesn’t feel right. You’re just going to get a little bit of engagement, not very much. And you can shift that though. Okay? You are very close to making a move to being in that posture position, to being in that confident position.

And it’s powerful when you’re there. So how do you do that? Well, first of all, you hang out on podcasts like this and groups like Camp Elevate with your leaders that give you those words that give you those confident, those confident actions, right? I also want you to do thought downloads affirmation. I want you to do those gratitude pieces around why you’re doing what you’re doing, and I want you to know that success can be yours, but you’ve got to have those conversations, right? So, when I’m talking to the millionaires, and I was curious about how their business had changed in the six years, because we’ve all been, this will be six years for me. And the biggest shift that I’ve seen in the industry over the last three to four years is a shift to we’re showing up differently within, you guys know that my pillars are content, connections, and community, right?

So, if we have content on our social media that shares the stories that share their belief, that’s empowering, that’s does a ton of connecting. Then when we go to ask the question, our vibration is high, and I want to share with you. So, Susan, she shared with Lindsey and they’re a power team and they were sharing that last year. We were able to hear Erin King and she has a book called Digital Persuasion. And I promise you, I’m going to get her on this podcast. We’ve been chatting in Instagram. So if you know her,  tag her in the story and say, get on this podcast! And one of the things that she taught us, and I’m going to go into a kind of a power 30 for your business. And if you’re a leader, I am, I implore you to start that.

So, we’ve been doing this on our team, Susan and Lindsey have been doing it on theirs. I know many sidelines that have done this as well. But the, oh, my friend, Rhonda has been just, her entire team is loving that every day. Okay. Think about, I’m going to tell you about Erin King and then I’ll go back to what we’re doing every day. So, let me not get distracted here. So, Erin talked about consciously connecting in your comments and now somebody might say, well, that’s manipulative. Nope. When we are in a connection phase and relate our business to, I was excused, either dieting or dating, right? So if you wanted to, if you were thinking, I am going to find the man of my dreams this year, and you we’re entering into a, let’s say you went to an art show and I had a book signing and a concert, and you just sat in the back of the room and thought, I’m looking pretty hot. Someone’s going to come and talk to me. Maybe you, you know. And that’s your social media posts, maybe you’re wearing your, maybe you are the most fabulous person in the room, but guess what? Nobody’s coming over, maybe a hi, maybe a hey, but when you are in a social situation, like the book signing and the art show, and you’re consciously connecting and you’re growing those connections. And so, I want you to think about your social media posts. I’ll walk you through how I actually did this this week, consciously connecting in those comments. And it’s not just random. You are going to find that dream date a lot faster than the, being the most gorgeous person in the back of the room that is not having any connection. So, if we take this over to social media, think about this.

So, I’ll give you an example. I meet a lot of people in different groups that I’m interested in, and I’m on an intermittent fasting journey. I’m over 50. Don’t tell anyone. You probably didn’t know that. Yes, she did. I’m over 50 and I love to be in like, fit over 50. I’m in some entrepreneurial groups, I’m learning about Pinterest. I’m also in some Air Fryer groups and I’m in groups where I can give value and also where people can give me value. So, I want you to think about this. Those groups are like walking into those rooms where you’re meeting people. So, when I was a kindergarten parent, I wanted to meet new parents. I wanted to have friends at the school. I was brand new. Now I was not going to stand in the back of the room. I would walk up to a new mom and I would say, Hey, my name’s Beth, how’s it going?

Do you have a son or daughter in the class asking questions, connecting, and then following up like, hey, could I have your phone number so that we could get together, like want to meet at the park? Don’t be too crazy. Like, I remember the one that, hey, you want to go to camping trip with us this weekend? That just gets weird. Right? So, I was I’m in a group and I was learning to make cauliflower in the air fryer. And I had a new friend, and Kim in the group was helping me with that. She posts a lot of recipes. I commented back, I made the cauliflower in the Air Fryer, I wasn’t thinking, oh, I need a new customer. I was thinking this, this woman’s cool. She knows how to make cauliflower in their Air Fryer because Don Chepos, if you’re ever in Wellington, Oh my gosh. The best cauliflower tacos you have ever had. Now notice I just sold you tacos. Didn’t I? You’re probably like I got to get to Don Chepos, if you’re local. That did not feel weird. Did it? My energy was high. I sold you a taco and I’d be like, listen, hey, let me send one to you. Give me your credit card right now. I’ll go to delivery dudes, I’ll get you some tacos. I’m actually, my fasting window closes in 45 minutes. I don’t have time to order tacos tonight. So, I meet Kim, she’s telling me about the cauliflower. I actually shoot her a friend request. She accepts. I go over to her. I go over to her Facebook profile, and I actually find her on Instagram too. And I just consciously commented and connected, not just like, hey, yay, go go.

I asked a question. Her daughter was what they were posting about, her daughter getting her driver’s license. And I wrote, Oh my goodness. I remember the first time my daughter drove out the driveway. Thank goodness for meditation and prayer. And I wrote, I want to share with you, something that I’ve done every single time she drives out of the driveway. And I went over to messenger and I shared with her the anchoring that I learned from Ed Mylett, that I taught my son to do when he touches the handle of the car. And we’ll talk about that in another episode. And I said, I’ve got to share this with you. And by the way, my cauliflower was just, okay. It still was a little soggy. And we started chatting, okay, that’s walking into a freaking room and getting to know someone.

Now I wasn’t immediately saying Kim, you need my product. She’s on my list. So, during my power 30, every single day, I’ve now sent her to see first, because she’s a new friend. I want to get to know her, not in a way that I’m making her go camping with me on the first date, but in a way…by the way, I told my husband on our second date that we were getting married and we would have kids and he didn’t run. Don’t be that girl. Thank goodness he was, what was that show, Two and a Half Men, where I can’t remember the neighbor, she’s like the stalker. I’ll tell you the story of my husband another day or ask him, he’ll tell you, I’m going to get him on this podcast. He’s getting like, the quarantine it’s made him like super, he’s kind of getting a better feminine side about hanging out and chatting.

And so, I bet I can get them on the podcast for sure. So anyway, I want to talk about Kim. So, we were doing some connecting. She’s connecting at my things. I’m connecting or talking about the cauliflower. I then post, like posted something in my stories about my product. And I love, love, love every day or every other day to post a happy text from a customer. I love the stories of the customers. And so, I posted a couple of, of happy texts with a, yes, heck yes, sample pack, or wanting to be invited to my healthy habits, X, Y, and Z. And she said, I have to know what this is. Baboom, baboom yeah! That’s like ding, ding, ding. But it wasn’t like, oh, I got her. It was, oh my gosh, this woman has a teenager driving. I can’t wait to help her. I cannot wait to help her and get to know her and what a cool thing.

But I want you to walk through that. I was inside of that room. I was connecting, asking questions. I did send a friend request. I consciously did the commenting and that happens during my power 30. So, you’re walking into the room and you’re networking. You’re not fishing or baiting you’re networking. And, is she going to say, wow, well you walked me right into that? No, because when you’re a good human and you consistently[r1]  continue, like right after that happy text, I shared something from my I Am journal. I shared a couple facts that I learned. I celebrated another woman. I also told Kimmy that she should come over to Camp Elevate, because we were doing summer of More. I told her we are a lot of entrepreneurs, but a lot that…and then I said, what do you do? Okay? So, the point of this is every single millionaire that I talked to this week was saying that it is about staying in the game. It’s not about getting distracted by, oh, I’m going to create this and that. Yes, my podcast. Would I have created this podcast? Well, I would have done it long ago, but this isn’t building my business. So, to say, this is a passion project of mine, but it’s a content piece. So, I want you to think about what are the things that you do daily that make you money and put those into a business block. So, we do something that we call our working zooms. And if you’re a leader, you should have a working zoom and there’s all kinds of different formats, but you can start with connecting with birthday messages.

If your newest friends and contacts on Facebook, Instagram, setting to see first. Keeping that list, doing your conscious commenting, asking questions, then you want to take a look at, what’s going on. If you have customer groups, is there a new promo of some sort in the customer group? Is there something that you want to bring your current customers attention to? So, make a list of the things that are, how do you connect with birthday messages? You’re connecting with value in your Facebook groups. So first, whose birthday is it today? How can you connect, ask a question, put them on your list? I would never reach out to somebody on their birthday about product. It’s just a way for me to see all of my friends in one space. And I say, oh my gosh, I haven’t talked to this person in a year.

What are they up to? It’s checking in on your list. Now you guys know that I do a five, four, three, two, one. So, I’m thinking, okay, my three-social media, I’m going to post something that gets engagement. I’m going to make connections inside of my Facebook groups. I work within five to 10 Facebook groups. Some days I will post curiosity or market research. Other days I’ll share information that I’ve learned. Some days, I’ll just go in and say, who knows how to make Air Fryer cauliflower? I’m obsessed with cauliflower tacos. That was my question. On Monday, by Friday, I had an order because of meeting a new person. So, connecting in the Facebook groups, I’m commenting consciously and keeping track of those new connections I’m looking at. Now, the next thing that I love to do is thinking about who are the people that I have, oh, then I go into the story.

So, there’s a whole session on stories where I’m reacting and commenting to other people’s stories. And I’m looking at who reacted and commented to my stories. I’m taking notes on that. And then when it’s time for my reach outs, I’m like, okay, who’s who, who do I see, who has come to me today from my list?  I’m always working that list. Always, like Kimmy was on my, on my list, my cauliflower taco friend. Always working my list and to say, okay, if Kim hadn’t said anything to me and we had been commenting back and forth, I would have this week say, Hey, what do you do? Do you use supplements of any kind? Because that’s what I do. I don’t know if you have seen anything in my stories, but I help women to age gracefully and I help with it, you know, the energy girl, or something like that.

Or if you add essential oils or hair care products, so I would have reached out. Then I look at, who are the people on my list. And remember, I use sticky notes and Trello boards to see where people like I are. I will at any time have six or seven people sampling. I’ll go through, I follow up. And then I make sure that I’ve done my stories, my social media posts, my group posting. And then who am I adding to my list every single day? And then I’ll go through messenger and check for any three-way chats. Now the thing about my new cauliflower friend Kimmy is, I want to make sure I put her on a three-way validation chat. So, the first thing that we talked about was what are your health and wellness goals? If you had a magic wand and you could get changed something for your health and wellness, what would it be?

And she shared with me and I said, listen, I would love to connect you to my friend, Sarah, because I know that her story will really, really speak to you. And she could answer some questions because this and that I shared a bit of my story and I was asked, is it cool if I share some of my story with you? Because I think it will help you. So being in the game of the reach outs, the follow-ups and the connection, connection, connection, connection, and then building community from that connection. So, now Kim is going to go inside of my customer community. If your team has a customer community, and we’ll talk about why those are so important. So, she can start to see and feel other people’s stories and be a part of the larger community while I help her individually.

So, I hope… that is Yogi snoring in the background again. Hello, Yogi. So again, I want you to realize that all of this only happens when your energy is there. That if I was worried about what? What she was going to think? My business is my responsibility. I trust that I’m going to show up in a way that speaks to that person. And I know that I know that I can improve someone’s life by having the conversation. And that was the biggest piece that I learned from talking to millionaires this week was, don’t get distracted by the management, always bringing in new stories, new people, and then connecting with people that know who’s on your team. Also, that that’s the consciously connecting, keep a list of the people on your team. If you’re a leader, even if you have five people, this is one thing, don’t expect a leader to always know what you’re posting on social media, because life gets busy.

But I do love to keep a list of the people that I’ve personally brought into the business that are active. I don’t go and beg and pull. This is a, you are an entrepreneur, but I do give invites. So, staying connected without feeling like it’s not your responsibility to go out and beg somebody to do this. But if they think about it as the door is always open, we’d love to have you sit at our table. What’s going on? How are you? And all of those pieces and in your birthday messages, you’ll see people that you’re like, oh wow, it’s been a couple of years. This person used to be with me or is not actively promoting or distributing. And I put down their name for the two or three days on my calendar after their birthday to just reach out and say, hey, how’s it going?

I just miss you, not like, hey, jump on the team soon. We’d love you. We need you to come back. I will reach out and say, hey, how’s it going? I just miss you. I miss you. And I’ll come up with a memory and then find out if they’re open to coming back in and giving them the resources as well. So, I hope this has helped you today with understanding what would real, what really happens behind the scenes. And honestly, it’s not that fancy, it’s truly connection. Having conversations, being intentional with your stories, being intentional with your reach outs and having that power hour. And when I talked with Rhonda about how long she was in messenger every single day, I said, what if you opened your zoom, and if you have two people on your team, this is fine, and what I’ll do is I am going to provide a resource like a power.

I mean, I put it together for you this week, a power hour resource, and we’ll do it in Camp Elevate. If you’re not in Camp Elevate, come on over, but we’ll do it in Camp Elevate and have it in a file. I have a lot of Trello boards for this. I have a lot of resources for what the power hour looks like, go to thecampelevategroup.com or shoot me a message and say, hey, I would love a copy of your power hour. I’ll get a link for that. We’ll make that for you. Don’t worry. But if you want it now, let me know. I’m just, I always research. And I always ask people that are having success. I always, always, always say, what do you do daily in your business?

Because you know, that is the millionaire action plan, right? The millionaire action plan is based on what I just talked about. And we have closed the membership for just a few months. You can still get on that list to be back in the group when it reopens, where we’re working with our founders, right? The founders launch is going on now. If you are determined to be inside of the founder’s launch, just send me a message. Remember that, you cannot be with my company to be a part of it. You have to be outside of my company, but we have closed the doors, but I can personally add you if you’re thinking, I want to be a part of this. Because we’re breaking down each of the areas and going into what the set power hour, that working zoom looks like every single day, so that we can build our business and really getting hot with our social media.

Like that’s my biggest piece is how do we show up, visibility? Connection? What messages? What’s our purpose? What’s our passion? And then, when can we do the promotion? All right. So that is what I have for you today. I want to read to you, I don’t have an author for this, I saw it in somebody’s stories and it really spoke to me. It says this, I want to leave you with this message today; ‘You have this one life. How do you want to spend it, apologizing? Regretting? Questioning? Hating yourself? Dieting? Running after people who don’t see you be brave? Believe in yourself. Do what feels good. Take risks. You have this one life. Make yourself proud’. I’ll see you guys next week.
